Council rent increases 2009/10
On Friday 6th March the Government announced that councils could limit their rent increases, for the following financial year, to 3.1%.
This is great news for tenants, however the announcement came after rent increase letters, which specified a 6.2% increase, had already been sent out.
Stroud District Council, along with other councils, is currently looking at how we can make these adjustments to our tenants' rents with minimal disruption.
We are awaiting Government guidance, and will implement the changes as soon as we can.
In the meantime, tenants are advised to pay their rent as normal, according to the latest information they have received from us. We will write to all tenants to notify them of any changes.
